This study, conducted within the Belgian MoleChorio.be registry, investigated the presence of atypical extravillous trophoblast foci identified in some complete hydatidiform moles. We demonstrated that these atypical foci are an independent predictor of progression to postmolar trophoblastic neoplasia, suggesting a potential new histopathological marker of disease progression.
