In 2012, under the aegis of the Belgian and Luxembourg Gynaecological Oncology Group (BGOG), the Belgian Gestational Trophoblastic Diseases Registry was started and two reference centers (a French-speaking and a Flemish-speaking) were established.

- To assist patients and physicians facing gestational trophoblastic diseases by providing support aimed at optimizing the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of these conditions.
- To obtain a systematic pathological review.
- To create a Belgian database enabling the study of these rare pathologies and improving their understanding.
