Goal of the registry

In 2012, under the aegis of the Belgian and Luxembourg Gynaecological Oncology Group (BGOG), the Belgian Gestational Trophoblastic Diseases Registry was started and two reference centers (a French-speaking and a Flemish-speaking) were established.

It aims to optimize the management of patients affected by these rare and heterogeneous conditions.

The missions of the Belgian registry are:

  • To assist patients and physicians facing gestational trophoblastic diseases by providing support aimed at optimizing the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of these conditions.
  • To obtain a systematic pathological review.
  • To create a Belgian database enabling the study of these rare pathologies and improving their understanding.
